I've started school again (one of those private schools that team up with a university). I'm currently doing an utterly irrelevant diploma in business administration, leading to a degree in cyberforensics.
Most days i either need to be in class mornings *or* afternoons, so i usually manage to have lunch before i go to class, or come back from it. The first day, however needed me being out all morning so i ate lunch out and prices have gone up a fair bit. I could get a basic set meal at the local veggie fast food chain for about 3 dollars, its up to about 6 dollars now, but well, my allowance is definately for stuff like that. Mom's a little shocked, and suggesting i'm better off eating lunch at home (which i will, 90% of the time).. which is amusing.
Speaking of allowances, i realised that while its fine for me to spend all of it, i just should not do so on geeky things obviously. So.. i snuck in a little 500 gb hard drive for backups and music, so i don't need to spend 3 days doing a full system backup over wireless to a share. Its small, cute, black, and hidden under a pile of plush toys ;p)
I was also talking to my brother about stuff i wish i could get at some point. When i was younger, if i wanted something, and i didn't get it, it was usually lack of money. Nowadays its 'what would the parent's think". I could easily get most of the things, on a fraction of my allowance and enough patience, on the list of things i'd love to get my hands on. Of course, yeah, parentals... tho i'm even more confused over this allowance thing now ;p.
