Computer plans
Apr. 14th, 2012 02:52 pmI spent a grand total of 45 dollars last month, 30 of which was from the PREVIOUS month. I haven't spent any of this month's allowance so far, nearly midway through the month.
This means, i've about a quarter of the money i budgeted for the system build on hand (300 of 1200), and should. hopefully, be up to about 400 by the start of may (I'll need to order some caps for the monitor repair project, as well as a raspberry pi). This means... i can actually start smuggling in parts.
The big issue i see on the short run is that the part i *know* i want to start off with is the case. its the largest single component, everything else fits around it, and unlike everything else, won't fit in a backpack. I'll likely need/want to wait till june/july for the internals since ivy ridge is coming out then, and there's a fair amount of things that i am intrigued by - thunderbolt/light peak support, native USB 3.0, and possibly the ability to use a ssd to cache even on the budget models (the H series. I've budgeted for the all singing, all dancing Z series motherboard and a K series, overclockable processor, but will likely backslide for a cheaper one).600 series nvidia cards are coming out soon too. As a result the only two short term acquisitions i want to get are the PSU and Case.
Still saving up but well, gotta keep what i wanna do in sight ;p
