For the first time in a very long time, i'm proud to be a singaporean.
Apparently the opposition team in my area managed to pull themselves together, and needed funds to stand against the government team (which includes our Minister Mentor, Lee Kuan Yew). Its probably the single toughest ward there is, and it probably takes a massive amount of guts to do it. Word went out that they were short of funds cause someone pulled out ... someone donated it.
The opposition, which was once fairly toothless and weak, is pretty much making the PAP quake in their boots - the pussycats seem to have sprouted manes, grown rather much bigger and picked up rather loud roars. Even when they arn't quite ready, they're pulling together, and doing things i'd never thought possible
Elsewhere, The only real reaction the men in white seem to have is to try to discredit the opposition - but men in white shouldn't fling poo - you get it all over yourself.
If all goes well, tommorrow, i'll learn that this place i live in is contested.
I'm rather proud of my fellow singaporeans. Come march 7th, there's a chance to let the government know what you think of them - and least for me, i know my vote bloody well counts.
