I'm pondering a minor cleanup of people who post on both DW and LJ (i'm primarily using DW, and DW users i follow overlap with LJ so it should be fine.

My facebook account is a bit of a trashcan. There isn't anything much of concequence there on my side, and i pay it very little attention. I may pay it none. not sure

Wondering if i can switch to a single rss feed for LJ... with a bit of work
Just something that's being worked on, on and off. Basically something that cropped up as a mix of frustration of forums and how well Q&A sites worked for technical information. A few LJ folks have poked through the prototype, and generally once folk get past the 'whatisit' stage, seem to like it.

The advantage of Q&A sites over forums is simple - its direct, no BS and by nature task focused. Forums tend to get messy, overcluttered and complicated, with byzantine rules several pages long. They make it easy to lose focus on the topic at hand- after all, off topic boards and introductions are what most people read. Many of the best conversations i've had were with individuals, and they were direct, to the point, and interesting, and that's what i'm trying to capture.

I've no idea when we'll be ready. I'm sadly not a webdev, and the dev (maybe devs) working on it does have real life to contend with, after all. When it is though, i'm hoping it'll be a Grand Idea, as opposed to another quiet never has been site.

More when things are ready ^^
